Tips to avoid rodents

Check and ensure your crawl space vents are secure. Inspect the wire closure and surrounding area.
Inspect the door sill plates under entry doors for gaps. Fill with foam, wire mesh or steel wool. [see Amazon URL below]
Check and fill utility entry holes: Cable, Internet, HVAC, Plumbing, etc.
Ensure the garage door bottom seal is in good condition.If not, replace it and check the holes on side rails at bottom near the door. It can be filled with wire mesh. Also, any gaps inside the garage that lead to walls or the crawlspace.
If you find rodents in the crawlspace they are probably also in the attic. They travel up the wall’s spaces and nest in insulation.
Place rodent poison or traps around the foundation.
Research Pest control companies to get the best deal or talk to neighbors who have been through this drill.
Winter is the time they are looking for shelter, so be proactive.
If you have rodent issues, communicate with your neighbors especially in connected townhomes.
